How to Build Your Own Cellphone [VIDEO]

As beautifully designed as the latest batch of smartphones are, they're missing one thing -- individuality. If you are a crafty type and would like a one-of-a-kind cellphone, check out this DIY cellphone kit from MIT's Media Lab.

Just pop in a SIM card and it's ready to use. At about $150 for the parts (plus free printouts for the circuit board and covers from GitHub) you can have DIY bragging rights over your iPhone-mad friends.

If you want text messaging capabilities, however, you'll have to code that into the software yourself.

Seth Godin Funds New Book on Kickstarter in Under 3 Hours

Seth Godin, author of a slew of top-selling marketing books including Linchpin and Tribes, has already raised enough money on Kickstarter to fund his next book.

Godin launched his campaign for the book, titled The Icarus Deception, at 5:05 a.m. ET, PaidContent reports. Less than three hours later the campaign hit its funding goal of $40,000, Godin announced in an update appended to the campaign. By 11:00 a.m., funding had passed the $90,000 mark.

Neil Munro, White House correspondent at online news organization The Daily Caller, broke with protocol to interrupt President Obama during a Friday morning press briefing about immigration reform.

A statement released by the Caller claimed Munro wasn't trying to heckle the president, but rather was trying to time his question to arrive at the end of Obama's remarks.
